    Fractal EMS captures and publishes data to the cloud in real time. This coupled with unlimited data storage provide users with warranty security and a significant advantage during technical dispute resolution.

  • Real-Time Monitoring

    Fractal EMS provides real-time, human, remote asset monitoring done in-house. We do not subcontract this out.

Integration with All Equipment

Fractal EMS offers a comprehensive integration with energy storage systems and equipment utilizing a variety of common industry protocols to include:

  • Master BMS, including all the data and controls that flow to/from the Rack BMSs
  • Power Conversion System (PCS)
  • Optional equipment such as revenue meters, breaker status, transformer warnings and alarms
  • Balance of Plant (BOP) equipment with a Modbus TCP / IP interface to include: heating, ventilation and cooling (HVAC); fire detection and fire suppression; door alarms and lights; point of interconnection (POI) disconnect/breaker/switch; auxiliary meters and auxiliary breaker status

Provides Redundancy to Vendor Setpoints

Fractal EMS provides another layer of system protection:

  • Defines actions for any data point using the fully configurable fault controller
  • Maintains functionality of the system within safe operating limits
  • Reduces power when operating outside normal conditions of voltage, current or temperature
  • Monitors all points recorded by the system and executes actions from vendor-based equipment
  • Ceases operation under severe conditions
  • Automatically trip the PCS and BOP equipment when the PCS setpoints are exceeded

Alerts and Alarms

Fractal EMS has extensive alarms and warnings that broadcast via the web, API and/or SCADA interfaces. A configurable alarms table provides real-time status notifications of issues, to include:

  • Over/under-temperature, both ambient and cell level
  • BMS warnings such as malfunction of the battery modules or racks
  • Electrical faults in the system
  • Activation of any of the interlocking mechanisms (racks, DC isolation switch)
  • Loss of auxiliary supply
  • Opening of the user entry container doors (if available through Modbus TCP)
  • Fire suppression system alarms
  • Define notifications (visual, text, email) for any data point using the fully configurable fault controller

Unlimited Data Storage

Fractal EMS captures and publishes data to the cloud in real time with unlimited data storage. This provides users the necessary data during warranty claims and feeds the predictive failure algorithms.

  • Range of 1 sec to 10 sec data capture
  • Data retention for the life of the contract
  • High speed data capture available (50 samples/sec, up to 8 data points) e.g., frequency and power
  • Interactive and intuitive visualizations

Real-Time Monitoring

Fractal EMS provides experienced, in-house asset monitoring that:

  • Prioritizes, escalates and communicates events or abnormalities with owners
  • Performs trend analysis, reporting and troubleshooting on KPIs to maintain system health and performance
  • Initiates emergency response protocols and contacts first responders
  • Ensures automated safety interlocks associated with equipment are properly executed
